One vehicle accident claims the life of a 16-year-old boy

HARDIN COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated a fatal crash on Sap Graveyard Road, that occurred Sunday, November 17.


DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 3 a.m., a 2007 Ford F-150 was traveling north. It is reported that the driver was traveling at a speed which was unsafe on a dirt gravel road and lost control. The pickup traveled into the west ditch where it struck a tree and overturned."


The driver, identified as 17-year-old William Miller of Kountze, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. There were three passengers, two of which were not injured, a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old male. The third passenger, identified as a 16-year-old male, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace.
