Leesville woman seriously injured following early morning accident

At around 6:30 this morning on Hwy 63, near Farm-to-Market Road 1415, a head-on collision occurred sending one person to Jasper Memorial Hospital.

DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 6:30 a.m., a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling east, while a 2019 Honda HRV was traveling west. It is reported that the driver of the Chevrolet traveled into the oncoming lane and struck the Honda on its front left".

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 32-year-old Melissa Estes of Leesville, La., was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda, identified as 42-year-old Thomas Grimsal of Boyce, La., was not injured.
